During a change we clearly see the goal, but when a transformation begins we actually don’t know where we want to end up. In addition, a transformation takes place at high speed and in an iterative process – we must act on the knowledge we gain along the way. Once we recognise that we’re in the process of transformation, we should change the organisation’s approach and increase our focus on agile management – and not just in the IT department.
Digital transformation is successful only when it is an integral part of the organisation’s strategy. The transformation must be linked to the company’s other strategic areas of focus: customer and stakeholders, processes and, not least, the organisation’s current and future competencies.
