I was an Engineer and a Marketing Manager before entering the world of Leadership Development. I like to think that means I have a commercial, return on investment view of the client work that we do. I have delivered programmes in 45 countries and I really enjoy the cultural aspects of leadership and management. I’ve got 4 daughters with whom I get plenty of practice of communication, conflict resolution, coaching and delegation. They teach me a lot!
What do you do in Mannaz?
I’m a Client Director. I deliver workshops, coaching sessions and facilitation. In addition, I have commercial responsibilities to manage existing clients and to discover and develop new ones.
What motivates you?
Making a difference. Good leadership has an impact on a large number of people and a consequent significant impact to business performance.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
With Mannaz, it was writing the proposal and being part of the successful bid team which won the Shell contract. Previously, I sold and managed the first million dollar contract for Management Centre Europe. There are many individual accomplishments among the 8,000 participants I have worked with over the last 15 years.
What mistake have you learned the most from?
This is where you are supposed to say “my perfectionism causes problems sometimes” :-). However, genuinely I would say not dealing with issues early enough, not asking for clarification or help early enough. Trying to please ends up pleasing nobody.
