Presentation technique is an important competence in modern work life. We must learn to get people to listen to our ideas, whether we sell, present ideas, describe visions, present projects, etc. This course will teach you to get your message across in a convincing, authentic way. |
You will be given tools, training, and feedback to equip you to get up in front of an audience and present a topic. You will gain greater impact, as you will learn relevant techniques to prepare yourself in a simple and effective way, and you will immediately experience a lift in your presentation technique.
Participants
The course is for individuals who wish to learn the most important fundamental methods for preparation and delivery of a presentation. The methods will be practised during the course, so that you will get off to a good start in becoming a good communicator and to give you an overview of what you need to continue to work on after the course. The course is aimed at communicators with limited experience, as well as those who have given presentations many times but feel that they could get even better. Since the course takes its starting point from each participant, both groups will get substantially better at giving presentations during the course.

The course will give you unique knowledge about how to build and deliver an effective presentation. Most importantly, however, you will also receive training in how to do it. You will leave the course with constructive feedback from the facilitator and the other participants, DVDs of yourself and, not least, many positive experiences – no matter how good you were beforehand.
Course content
The course will teach you to:
- Master good body language
- Prepare a relevant script, whether in the form of notes or written in full
- Build an effective attitude
- Handle any anxiety
- Speak with enthusiastic commitment
- Alternate between different forms of appeal, depending on purpose and target group
- Establish solid credibility, so that the recipients believe you from the very first moment

Learning method
The course takes its starting point from up-to-date rhetorical theory, and combines this with many effective exercises, which ensure that all participants take the stage frequently. Selected exercises are recorded, allowing the participants to see their own strengths and opportunities for improvement themselves. In addition to the facilitator’s feedback, the participants also learn to give constructive feedback to each other, so that everyone leaves the course with a positive experience and relevant points for improvement in the future.
Course details
The course consists of two separate days, 2–3 weeks apart. This allows the participants to gain an insight into and basic training in the presentation technique on the first course day, after which they will have a chance to continue to work with their experience back home. The second course day will include additional theory and exercises that will continue to develop the participants’ competences.
Facilitator
Kenn Hansen holds an MA in Rhetoric from Copenhagen University and is, as such, specially trained in consultancy and presentation technique training. He served as a project manager and communications consultant for several years in the financial industry, where, amongst other things, he introduced brand-new PowerPoint formats to leaders, salespeople, and consultants. As a consultant for an advertising agency and a consulting firm in Copenhagen, he gathered experience of presentations that had an aesthetic impact and were at the same time effective at communicating a message. As an independent communications consultant, he travelled around Denmark with sparring on presentations; as he puts it himself, each of these experiences made him a bit wiser.
Several thousand course participants have attended Kenn’s courses over the past six years, and the participants are consistently very satisfied and develop significantly on the courses. In addition to presentation technique, Kenn is a facilitator for the course “World-class PowerPoints”.
