The Danish Leadership Institute nominated for prestigious award

On June 11 2007 The Danish Leadership Institute was honoured in Europe as one of three finalists of international competition in management education.

This year, for the first time, the European Foundation for Management Development, EFMD, will honor a partnership between a school of management or consultancy and a business that demonstrates best practices in leadership development. The Danish Leadership Institute features among the three finalists.

The Danish Leadership Institute is nominated for one of the most ambitious leadership development programmes across Europe. In 2005, Fujitsu Services, a professional IT services organization, launched an ambitious management development program: the Fujitsu Management Academy. The programme Involved 2,200 managers based in 13 different countries, where participants were able to follow the same, three-stage, program delivered in 11 different languages. The aim of the Management Academy was to develop the company’s existing employees into more effective people managers.

Fujitsu Services worked in partnership with a range of organisations to assist in the design and delivery of this extensive people-development program, comprising leadership specialists and the Danish Leadership Institute. The program consisted of a consortium approach, working with DIEU and Oxygen Learning leadership and teamwork specialists, and Track Surveys, specialists in the 360-degree feedback process.

Three finalists selected
The jury panel, composed of representatives from the EFMD Corporate members, Business Schools and Executive Development Centres, has reviewed 13 entries and short-listed three finalists for the innovation in learning competition. The three finalists are selected based on a number of criteria, namely,innovation and creativity in the learning approach, its effective partnering with a corporation, cultural diversity, sustainability and strategies for learning transfer.

DIEU competed with a Dutch and an American business school for the prestigious award.
