What is PRINCE2®?

PRINCE2® is a project management method

PRINCE2®PRINCE2® is an overall project management method with a comprehensive pro-cess model, which comprises all aspects of a project, from idea to start-up, through realisation to completion. PRINCE2® contains a planning model in which the project is divided into clear stages for detailed planning, which enables the management of the organisation to secure, on an ongoing basis, that project results are supporting the business plan and live up to the defined quality.

PRINCE2® is a management system

As a management system, PRINCE2® includes a change- and configuration control, where changes are documented and approved for optimum quality of the project results. The management system contains:

PRINCE2® involves all project stakeholders, e.g. project manager, project team members, steering group members and the management of the organisation, and the system uses the organisations existing business processes, systems and tools.

Contents

Course layout

The course is a 5-day residential course, including both preparation before the course and evening work on the course. During the first 4½ days, you will learn the necessary theory and be trained in solving exam tasks, individually as well as in groups. As an important part of the exam preparation, you will be given individual tasks to perform in the evenings.

In the afternoon on the 4th day of the course, the Foundation Exam is held, followed by the Practitioner Exam on the last day. After having passed the Practitioner Exam, you will hold the title of Registered PRINCE2® Practitioner.

The APM Group is responsible for the preparation of the exam papers, the correction and evaluation.

Course preparation

Prior to the course, preparation will consist of approx. 20 – 30 hours reading. The preparatory material will be sent to you approx. 3 weeks before the start of the course.

PRINCE2® originates from the British public sector.

PRINCE2® is owned by the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) and is administered by the organisation APM Group in the UK.

Mannaz is an accredited PRINCE2® training organisation, approved by the APM Group, which administers PRINCE2®.

Both instructors and material are accredited by the APM Group. Courses and exams are held in Danish.
