Empathy and Development

– strengthen your social competences

Life is a constant surprise! Our task in this dynamic world is to meet the challenge with originality and integrity – and that is not a small task. Old, rooted patterns have an ugly tendency to be in the way when we need to utilise our full potential.

This course aims at looking at these patterns, at making us aware of what inhibits us, and at finding new ways of breaking free of conventional thinking. As a natural consequence, we enhance our ability to act spontaneously and intuitively.

This course looks at the different types of relationships that you experience on a day-to-day basis, both professionally and personally. The course teaches you to explore and apply your emotional intelligence and gives you an insight into your roles and your behaviour in your interaction with others – an insight that is crucial today when a comprehension of the dynamics of relationships and the handling of relationships has almost become a competitive parameter.

Course content
The course is based on systematic and cognitive thinking. Authors such as Daniel Goleman, Ken Wilber, Howard Gardner and Bill Torbert are recurring figures in the theories and models used on the course.

The course is based on the participants’ own experiences and reactions. We work intensively, with plenty of opportunity to reflect in big and small groups. We work with well-documented psychological theories and ethical principles that, together, form an action-learning environment based on trust. Based on this, we work in an in-depth way, with relationships as the topic.

Learning method

The course is conducted as an interactive workshop that alternates between facilitator presentations, exercises and assignments. Personal involvement and decision-making are the best prerequisites for benefitting from this course. You will have plenty of opportunities to focus on your own personality and time for group-orientated tasks where you will put the opinions of others into play. We emphasise dignity and mutual respect, which establishes trust and security within the group. It is up to you how deeply you wish to work on your development process.
