We develop when we have to confront a challenge. Conflict forces us to think and act differently. Conflicts and disagreements cannot be avoided – they are a natural part of everyday life. The challenge is to use conflict constructively as part of your self-development and the development of your staff and your workplace.
Participants
This course is aimed at individuals who need and want to work actively on handling conflict and disagreements. You may be a leader at any level, an employee, a project manager, an internal or external consultant, a trade union representative, or a person working in HR or a different key function in your company.

You will become aware of your own reaction patterns in a conflict. You will learn to prevent and handle conflict and to identify and dare to enter into conflicts – both your own and those of others. You will gain insight into the nature of conflicts, and why and how they arise and develop.
You will learn to:
- Strengthen your ability to detect and react to conflict signals
- Get better at preventing and handling conflict
- Tackle emotional reactions – including your own
Your company will gain:
An employee with the ability to spot and handle conflicts before they become damaging
A more confident employee when it comes to conflict management – we will look at your own behaviour, values and triggers
An employee who handles conflict more effectively by paying attention to the three different types of conflict and to how they should be handled differently An employee with a focus on behaviour that promotes trust and straightforwardness
An employee who is aware of his or her own responsibility for the conflict as well as more options in relation to “difficult colleagues”
Conflict generates change – change creates conflict.
Conflict occurs as a result of change, a relationship, a routine or a structure. There are many degrees of disagreements, from simple differences of opinion and problems to personal disputes and actual conflict. Regardless of the nature and extent of disagreements, they are a necessary and inevitable part of life that challenges us professionally and personally.
Depending on how we handle conflicts, they are either a source of professional and personal development, or the exact opposite. When you handle conflict constructively, trapped energy is released and makes room for change. Solving conflicts therefore prompts personal satisfaction, involvement and job satisfaction and opens up new opportunities for development and collaboration.
