Assertiveness – Equal Communication
”Assertion” is a tool that strongly improves the assertiveness of your communication and your personal appearance. It is a three-day course with two facilitators that assure you a high benefit.
Three good reasons to participate:
You will establish lasting behavioural changes
You will be able to use what you have learned in practice
By watching others change, you will be inspired to change yourself.
Do you manage to say what you mean without offending others?
Do you get your wishes and your messages through, without offending your co-workers or do you, on the other hand, give up too easily? Are you able to stand by your demands or disagreements while staying attentive and at eye level?
On the “Assertion” course, your ability to communicate will receive a quantum lift. Not only will you be given a great toolbox – you will also be guided through a process that will make it clear to you, what your strengths are, and where and how it can be advantageous for you to train yourself.
Participants
“Assertion” is aimed at anyone who wishes to stand forward with personal assertiveness as clearly as possible. You wish to be perceived as someone, with whom people know where they stand – and who, at the same time, is not afraid to take on a dialogue.
Are you good at being good to others, but not yourself?
Do you take on assignments with a smile, even though you are over-burdened? Or do you tell people off in an aggressive way?
The course is either for those who feel humble or reserved – you may not be saying what you mean or you never get to share your words of wisdom – or for those who are very expressive and dominating.
It is important that you are active on the course and you must be willing to work with yourself.
Main reasons to choose this course
·You have difficulty expressing your opinions or good ideas – difficulty saying your piece
·You have difficulty handling certain situations or people; particularly very “strong”, aggressive or dominating people
·You feel a need to share your opinion – have more influence at meetings and in the daily cooperation at work or in other connections
·You feel inhibited in social situations – difficulty with small talk, it feels complicated to approach other people
·You find it difficult to relax socially.
Learn to communicate with emphasis – and to handle conflicts
Assertive behaviour is to dare to express your feelings, opinions and needs clearly, unambiguously and honestly – with respect for yourself and others.
Benefit
Through the “Assertion” course you will gain strength in various areas: You will get better at communicating clearly and precisely with personal emphasis. You will learn to ask for what you need and to say no when appropriate. You will also be trained in handling conflicts in a way that prevents both you and the other party from losing or getting angry.
In short, you will become better at:
·Cooperating and avoiding conflicts
·Handling pressure and difficult conversations
·Reading other people’s body language and actively using your own
·Setting your boundaries and sticking to something when you really mean it
·Acknowledging and giving constructive feedback
·Receiving feedback – and acknowledgement
·Handling stress
Course content and form
To best help and strengthen you, we request that you fill out and return a questionnaire that describes your wishes and your prerequisites prior to the course. The course itself will alternate between theories and practice – between introductory presentations, demonstrations, exercises and perceptive observations.
You will be spending quite a bit of time with your work group where one of the facilitators will participate as a coach and a facilitator. In this connection, you will be contributing a lot yourself. In return, you will receive proper and competent focus on your very own personal development patterns and the challenges you are facing in your day-to-day work. In other words, your way of communicating will be constructively scrutinized – all of it taking place in a comfortable atmosphere that also brings out smiles.
Together with the two facilitators, you will experience a varied and very attentive learning method that combines theories on assertion with plenty of individual training, personal involvement, coaching and an opportunity to cross boundaries and see new possibilities.
Participants particularly like
·The training groups – the reflecting teams. The participants benefit greatly from being at the centre of the stage and from being coached
·The benefit from attending with the other participants and the fact that they see/experience the problem areas of others
·Getting closer to themselves
·The fact that the challenges and the problem areas of the participants are the foundation for the course
·The interaction with the other participants – the feeling that “I’m not alone with my problems”.
