Intercultural Communication
How to strengthen your international partnerships
| A training programme on intercultural communication that will help you become skilled and confident when you encounter the global world professionally – one hour of free, individual coaching after the programme |
Employees of the private and public sectors are increasingly entering into international partnerships and have to relate to the complexity, but also the opportunity of cultural synergy, that characterises the ever-changing global market. It is important that cultural capabilities are developed to keep up with global demands.
Do you work across the borders on a regular basis? Do you negotiate with foreign colleagues? Are you involved in international projects? Do you manage multi teams? Or do you work with many different nationalities on a day-to-day basis that requires you to act in many different cultural contexts?
Participants
This programme is aimed at individuals who work as consultants, international negotiators, international coordinators, international sales people or HR consultants, who wish to become better equipped to handle intercultural, international partnerships.

Programme content
We will work focused with intercultural communication through staged exercises, uncovering of individual behavioural patterns and discussions that are directed towards the working environment and business-related conditions.
The purpose of this programme is to help you deactivate your cultural autopilot and manually navigate cultural encounters. People often react intuitively in intercultural encounters, as their basic values and behavioural patterns are challenged. It is therefore necessary to communicate in a professional, mediating and open manner.
During the programme, you will become acquainted with various topics, such as:
- Fundamental cultural mechanisms – clarification of concepts
- The art of ’crossing cultures’
- Developing an effective, culturally aware communication style (intercultural conflict style assessment tool)
- Methods for creating better results in cultural encounters
Practical training:
On the programme, we will work specifically with topics, such as:
- Dos and don’ts in relation to specific case stories
- Global means of communication: email, conference meetings, telephone
- The individual, intercultural communication tool
- Dilemma exercises to raise awareness of your cultural communication style
- Staged improvisation exercises for cross-cultural conflict meetings
- Structured discussions of country-specific work cultures and dilemmas
- Reflecting teams are formed to share knowledge of your own, international experience
Teaching method

You will also receive great help in this area because, in addition to the facilitation and exercises, you will receive one hour of personal coaching.
