Real Life Coaching Lab

Framework
In the Real Life Coaching Lab, you will be coached by another member of your group on a personal or leadership dilemma chosen by you. This means that you will be coached in relation to your dilemma as well as given the opportunity to practice your own coaching skills in relation to someone else's dilemma. When you are not being coached or acting as a coach, you will practice reflecting on and relating to the dilemmas of others. In this way, you will obtain an overall insight into a broad repertoire of dilemmas and the associated scope for action.

The business psychologist manages the process and ensures that the reflections of the group are constructive and that you gain an understanding of your own and other people's dilemmas and the associated scope for action. Furthermore, the business psychologist will translate the concrete experience (mastering the situation) into your everyday life, in order that you gain an insight into how the method can be applied in terms of creating further learning and development in your workplace.

The dynamics - why is this simple framework so effective?

  • You will get a personal experience of the fact that thinking in new ways about a dilemma can help you discover completely new solutions.
  • You will experience how many of your personal dilemmas are common dilemmas.
  • You will learn a method of handling complex problems and building courage to implement change in interaction with others.
  • You will learn how you can "teach others to learn", and thereby obtain leadership training in leading through others as well as allowing employees to create constructive and innovative solutions.
  • You will be trained in how to be "mentally flexible", which is the point of departure for fundamental personal development.
  • Confrontation with your understanding of your life as a leader and in general.

From change to transformation
Processes like these can work as a catalyst for lasting personal change, because the experiences influence your perception of yourself and others. When your see how complex personal dilemmas are solved and experience the will and the courage to change the world, you will have gained insight into a method that leads to lifelong learning and development.

Derived learning such as becoming aware of your freedom of choice in terms of approach, the concept of roles, etc., will give you a solid and constructive foundation in terms of your future personal development.
