Lower cost and more impact
Within many of our clients’ organisations, there is an increasing imperative to cut costs and to demonstrate impact on business performance from leadership and management development initiatives, often to Board members. This has been a pre-occupation for us also. Now, together with GFGO mbH in Berlin we have developed PRO-LEAD™, which is a third generation tool to identify those leadership behaviours that have the most impact on business performance.

Convincing arguments
This tool allows you to identify and focus exclusively on developing those leadership behaviours with proven impact on business results. Consequently effort can be prioritised away from developing leadership competencies that have little or no influence on business performance. With PRO-LEAD™ you can demonstrate convincingly the relationship between the focus and scope of leadership/management development and the bottom line.

From assumptions to facts
The major differentiator of PRO-LEAD™ is its ability to document facts around which leadership factors have the most impact upon business performance. Today the most frequently used organisational surveys are based on assumptions and subsequent development activities are often therefore at best an educated guess.

A scientific process
Through a scientific approach we demonstrate how much correlation there is in your organisation between certain leadership behaviours and the chosen key performance indicator. In other words, PRO-LEAD™ is a truly tailored instrument based on which leadership factors in your organisation relate to a chosen key performance indicator e.g. productivity, client loyalty, quality, or staff satisfaction.

Right or wrong assumptions
In a rigorous process we work with you to formulate hypotheses on the leadership factors you assume to have major impact on productivity, quality, or other key performance indicators. Then, a scientific and statistical approach generates data which document the interdependencies. You will then know how much your chosen leadership factors relate to business performance.

Your validated and tailored leadership map
The critical output is a fully tailored and validated instrument, PRO-LEAD™, which when applied in the organisation provides a detailed map of which development initiatives should be initiated to improve business performance - what to start, stop or continue to do at an organisational level. With this instrument leadership development can be directed to initiatives which drive organisational results.

Proactive leadership development
As a direct result of the validated behavioural linkages to business performance, experienced leaders and managers are able to adapt faster and shift their behaviours. The history of PRO-LEAD™
The scientific approach behind PRO-LEAD™ has been developed by Dr. Bertolt Stein founder of GFGO mbH, Gesellschaft für Gesundheit und Organisation, and practised with significant success for more than a decade. The process is a cornerstone of the Healthy Performance concepts which have demonstrated highly effective in improving bottom line result.

The PRO-LEAD™ process
First important step: The Hypothesis Workshop
For a start you need only to engage yourself in a 2-day hypothesis workshop. The workshop provides a guided process leading you and a selected team to identify the most relevant hypotheses on causes for high impact and low impact leadership behaviour. At this point you will have a clear understanding of the PRO-LEAD™ dynamics and may decide to take the process further.

Next step:
Developing the PRO-LEAD™ leadership performance indicator
Next step is to verify the hypotheses by interviews and to develop a questionnaire to be used to gather data in the organisation. Data are then gathered and statistically analysed. You will then know how much the identified leadership factors actually influence business performance.

Last step:
Leadership development with lower cost and more impact
With the validated instrument you are ready to design highly focused leadership development. You may choose to conduct the initiatives yourself in the organisation or to involve our experience in designing and implementing focused leadership development.
