Development of Mannaz
Mannaz was founded as DIEU in 1975 by the two associations of engineers in Denmar, DIF and
I-S – who are now merged as IDA. Both associations had a department for continuing education, none of which were operating cost-effectively. This is why DIEU was founded as an independent business owner foundation with employees, products and fixtures as their assets. No funds were made available, which has been the case ever since. Mannaz/DIEU has no special interests and does not receive funding from the government, private companies or organisations.
The biggest demand for programmes used to be within management and technology, but today our product portfolio covers a large selection of programmes and consultancy services within strategy, management development, organisational development, project management, personal and professional development. In order to emphasise this development, we changed our name and logo from Danish Engineers’ Post Graduate Institute (DiEU) to Danish International Continuing Education (DIEU) in 1999.
Expansions and recognitions
In order to cover the area of information technology, Mannaz/DIEU bought Niveau Informatik ApS in 1992. That company has since been closed down as an independent company and now operates as a department within Mannaz.
In December of 1999 Mannaz/DIEU bought 50% of the shares in the company PROGRÈS Human Resource Development, and in July of 1999 Mannaz/DIEU founded a subsidiary, Niveau Consulting A/S. Both of these companies are now an integrated part of Mannaz/DIEU and no longer exist as independent units.
In 1996 Mannaz/DIEU was ISO 9001 certified. In connection with applications with EFQM for The European Quality Award, Mannaz/DIEU was a finalist in1997, won a European quality prize in 1998 and won The European Quality Award for small and medium-sized companies in 1999.
As a direct proof of our long-time focus on running the organisation from a holistic perspective where all employees are aware of the requirements and their roles as a whole, combined with a good personnel policy and a forthcoming management style, Mannaz/DIEU was awarded ”Best Place to Work in Denmark” in 2001 competing against 99 other companies.
In 2003 DIEU was incorporated. DIEU A/S is owned by the IEF Foundation 51%, The Association of Danish Engineers 41% and DIEU A/S 8%.
